Forklift Work Platforms and Personnel Lift Cages for Elevated Access

WP-3636-DDForklift work platforms provide a practical way to elevate personnel for maintenance, repair, inspection, inventory, electrical, lighting, HVAC, and facility service tasks. Also commonly called man baskets, personnel cages, or fork truck work platforms, these units help workers reach elevated work areas.  Choose from a broad product family with multiple sizes, entry styles, and safety-focused configurations.

Safety-Focused Fork Truck Attachment

Each platform includes tine locks and a safety strap to help secure the platform to the fork truck carriage. Models feature handrails, midrails, toeboards, expanded metal backing. Select models include self-closing doors, casters, or 84 inch rear guards for applications requiring additional back protection. Models with an -84B suffix meet California OSHA requirements with an 84” rear guard. Platforms are designed for use with a safety harness with lanyard (available under options) and include anchor points to hook them too.  Anchor point capacities:

  • 5,000 lbs static capacity per platform (or 2,500 lbs per person)
  • 350 lbs dynamic capacity at a 6 ft drop

Sizes and Entry Configurations

This family includes platform sizes from 36 x 36 inches to 48 x 48 inches, with single side door and dual side door entry configurations available. Models with casters support easier positioning when the platform is not in use, while multiple fork pocket center options help match common fork truck setups.

Options and Application Fit

Available options include harnesses with lanyards, caster kits, emergency stop button kits, tool trays, warning signs, and expanded metal backs. Always follow the fork truck manufacturer's load center rating and capacity guidelines before use. These work platforms are manufactured to meet Vestil's interpretation of OSHA standards for elevated personnel access.
